Exporting your keys

The custodial → self-custody upgrade — planned, not yet live.

This isn't available in the app yet. The custodial → self-custody upgrade, and exporting your keys, are not wired up for users. This page describes the intended flow so you know what's coming — there's nothing to find in Settings for it today, so don't go hunting.

What it will be

If you signed up with email/password (a custodial account), the planned upgrade lets you take full ownership: connect a Sui wallet, approve an upgrade, and from then on the account is self-custody — the keys are yours, and the enclave forgets the custodial copy.

The intended steps:

  1. Find the upgrade option in Settings.
  2. Connect your Sui wallet.
  3. Approve the upgrade transaction.
  4. Your account is now self-custody; the previously managed key is discarded.

What works today

  • Self-custody from the start: if you want to hold your own keys, sign up with a Sui wallet. That path is available — it's only the upgrade of an existing custodial account that isn't.
  • The underlying on-chain capability for the upgrade exists; the in-app screens and the export action are what's still to come.

Why it matters

Self-custody means no party other than you can authorize ownership actions on your account. Until the in-app upgrade ships, the practical recommendation is simple: if self-custody matters to you, choose the Sui wallet sign-up when you create the account.
